COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) DEVELOPMENTS

Update as of February 18, 2020

Amid news of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus) on the African continent, we wish to provide an update on the status of the 12th ICT4D Conference, scheduled for April 21-23, 2020, at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel in Nigeria.

We plan to hold the Conference as scheduled. The health, safety and well-being of our community remains our highest priority.

As of writing, the Nigerian Center for Disease Control says that the health risk from COVID-19 for the general public is low. Although there are currently no confirmed cases of infection in Nigeria, Catholic Relief Services and the ICT4D Conference team will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 developments. We will issue updated guidance to attendees should the situation change.

Planners of the ICT4D Conference will monitor guidance issued by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the US government advice regarding travel. As is standard protocol for large events, the ICT4D Conference will have medical officers onsite during the event.
